Who's Your Care Hero?

BLOG-Care-Hero-09 Who’s your Care Hero? Who’s that special person who makes your life easier, shows love for others, and gives so much of themselves?

For me, that has to be Ron—he’s such a great coach, handles so much of the daily shuffle, and is a terrific role model for both our boys. I try to thank him often for everything he does for me, Ryan, and Adam, but I also want to also let him know today that he’s my Care Hero.

In celebration of National Family Caregiver Month, we’re giving you the chance to honor the heroes in your life. These are the family members, babysitters, nannies, senior caregivers, pet sitters, and teachers who make our lives easier! Nominate a caregiver and they could win a $500 Care Package (And you can win “thank you” prizes for entering them, too!). We want to hear stories about the people in your life who go to great lengths every day for those they love or work for.

Through the rest of November, visit Care.com on Facebook, post a photo of a caregiver and write a few words on why they’ve been a Care Hero to you and your family. Then get your friends involved—their comments on your nominee’s photo will help them win the contest!

At the end of each week, we’ll choose a Care Hero finalist. Each finalist will win a $100 restaurant gift certificate and whoever nominated them receives a 3-month subscription to Care.com.

On December 1, we’ll choose an overall winner and name them the 2009 Care.com Care Hero. The winning caregiver will receive a $500 “Care Package” including hotel stay, tickets to a show, and dinner on us. As a thank you, we’ll also give the nominator a $100 restaurant gift certificate to show our appreciation.

Say thank you to the special caregiver in your life! Nominate them to be the 2010 Care.com Care Hero! You can enter your caregivers and see all the entries on the Care.com Facebook Page.

My dad was my hero we spent a lot time together at the grocery store,Picking up his Medications at Grady Clinic, debating on certain topics, fixing cars, snaking the cleanout pipe, doctors office, feeding him at the nursing home, eating ice cream together, he always was there if i needed help, and would give me a loan and never discussed it if i was short on paying him. We would always say to daddy . You think you look good; his response would be I KKKNNNNOOWWWW......My dad was a wonderful dad in the whole WIDE world. my care hero is me...
I am taking care of 3 kids, 7y/o, 4m/o and 15m/o so you can imagine...
I am running all day long and most of the night...
besides the housekeeping stuff.
my husband works in 24h or more shifts...
I've been doing this by myself forever, even when I was pregnant with my big baby and around birth, my husband was off for 4days and had to do stuff out of the house, I have no family around and no close by friends..
I am not feeling sorry for my self, but if you are asking my who is my hero this is my answer and I deserve some credit...
I am enjoying my kids and thanking God for the blessings...

My hero is my children.I am currently a single mom of three. Getting divorced was never what I dreamed of when I said I do many, many years ago.I thought I would just fall apart. My children have been my hero. They have a special way of making me laugh when all I wanted to do was cry. They come into my room every night and make sure i am covered with blankets as I once did for them when they were younger. They always pitch in around the house. Words can not describe the love they for me.I'm grateful each day for them and their love for me.
